Band Submissions

Rules & Regulations

Read these Official Rules - Submission of an entry confirms your agreement to the following:

To submit you may only send one entry per band. Multiple entries may not be submitted. Multiple submissions or performances contained in a single envelope and/or with a single submission form will be disqualified. Each envelope must contain a printed and signed copy of: The release form, submission form, and payment or receipt of online payment in addition to the appropriate submitted video format. Release forms must be signed by every member of the band performing on the video submission as well as by the individual or individuals recording the performance. If band members are minors (persons under the age of 18) a second release form must be printed and signed by the persons’ parent or legal guardian.
No video submissions may exceed 6 minutes in length (4 minutes allotted for one song only and 2 minutes for your reply to the question posted on Punk’s Not Dead documentary film website). Video submissions will be accepted in the following formats: mini-DV, DVD (“all region” or “region 0”), VHS, CD-R with the flowing file types: Windows Media Player, QuickTime, or MPEG. PAL, NTSC, and SECAM are acceptable standards. All tangible submission materials become the property of Punk’s Not Dead Productions, LLC. and will not be returned. Punk’s Not Dead Productions, LLC. assumes no responsibility if, for any reason, your submission cannot be viewed or is not capable of running as planned. Punk’s Not Dead Productions, LLC. is not responsible for any errors in video submission related materials, or lost, late, misdirected, damaged, incomplete, illegible or postage due submissions.
Affix a label to your VHS/DVD/mini-DV/CD-R submission with your name, address & phone number, and question number to which you are answering. Each submission must be accompanied by a materials fee of $5.00 US or receipt of online payment. The materials fee is non-refundable. Payment may be made via money order (drawn on a US account), PayPal, or cash in US dollars.  If paying with PayPal include a copy of your receipt with your submission. If payment by PayPal is made by a person other than the one who is submitting their video responses (for example parent or guardian) please include all information on receipt so as to identify the payment with the video submission. All checks must be made payable to Punk’s Not Dead Productions, LLC. Fill out the submission form and release form and send a signed copy of each with your submission and payment to:

By submitting a music performance video, you hereby (a) represent that you are the sole composer and owner of your publishing and mechanical rights both of which are under no restriction, contractual or otherwise, which will prevent Punk’s Not Dead Productions, LLC.’s use of it, (b) acknowledge and agree that nothing in your submission infringes on any copyrights or trademarks, or violates any person's rights of privacy or publicity and that you have obtained all necessary releases and permissions; and (c) agree to comply with these official rules and the terms of service on the website.

By submitting your entry, you hereby grant, without additional consideration, to Punk’s Not Dead Productions, LLC. (and its agents, licensees, parent companies, subsidiaries, successors and assigns) (a) the non-exclusive right to print, publish, broadcast, use, make available, publicly display, publicly perform and otherwise distribute your submission in or through any medium whatsoever, now known or hereafter devised, throughout the world in perpetuity; (b) consent to submit your video for consideration for national broadcast syndication; and the right to use and publish your name, photograph, likeness, voice, address (city and state only), biographical information and testimonials, in any medium whatsoever, now known or hereafter devised, in perpetuity, in connection with the promotion of your submission to Punk’s Not Dead Productions, LLC. and its services.

Submissions must be postmarked on or before October 15, 2005 at midnight PST.

Punk’s Not Dead Productions, LLC. is not responsible for any lost, stolen or undelivered entries, or any entries that are not received by the Submission Deadline.

Punk’s Not Dead Productions, LLC. reserves the right to suspend, modify or cancel online submissions, or any participant’s involvement, at any time in its sole discretion if a computer virus, bug or other technical problem corrupts the administration or security of the submission, or for any other reason and, if these video submissions are cancelled, to select the participants from among the eligible entries received prior to the cancellation date.

By participating you hereby agree to release and hold Punk’s Not Dead Productions (and its directors, employees, shareholders, parent companies, subsidiaries, customers, licensees and agents) harmless from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs and expenses, including attorneys' fees and costs, arising in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from your participation or related activity. You further agree to indemnify Punk’s Not Dead Producitons, LLC. from and against any third party claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs and expenses, including attorneys' fees and costs, arising from or relating to your submission. Punk’s Not Dead Producitons, LLC. shall not be responsible for any malfunction, failure or delay of any online or other communications network or computer system, equipment, software or program, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to your or any other person's computer related to or resulting from uploading or other activity in connection with your participation in this submission.

If a minor (person under the age of 18) submits a video, Punk’s Not Dead Productions, LLC. must be able to verify and confirm that the consent is legally binding on the minor, or secure an appropriate parental/ legal guardian guarantee.

Punk’s Not Dead Productions, LLC. reviewing committee will watch all eligible submissions and will choose the submissions on the basis of creativity of performance and accuracy in answering the questions posted on the Punk’s Not Dead documentary film website.

Selections of submissions are at the sole discretion of the Punk’s Not Dead Productions, LLC. reviewing committee. Punk’s Not Dead Productions, LLC. reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any participant that it finds is in violation of these Official Rules. All decisions of Punk’s Not Dead Productions, LLC. are final.
